In gran parte scavata nel tufo, questa struttura è resa interessante dalla pregevole volta a botte dell’abside completamente realizzata con blocchi a secco; innumerevoli frammenti di coppi fanno supporre l’esistenza di una qualche struttura ad essa addossata.

In prossimità dell’angolo tra la parete di fondo ed il lato lungo orientale, scavato nel banco tufaceo un passaggio conduce ad un ambiente rupestre; forse in origine una tomba a camera.

In alto, nell’abside, dei fori sui i lati lunghi suggeriscono la presenza di un vano soppalcato, in basso, delle mangiatoie fanno pensare ad una stalla: non è quindi azzardato immaginare il riutilizzo della struttura a scopo abitativo in tempi anche relativamente recenti.

“Largely carved into the tuff, this structure is made particularly interesting by the finely crafted barrel vault of the apse, entirely constructed using dry-stone blocks. Countless fragments of roof tiles suggest the existence of some structure attached to it.

Near the corner between the back wall and the eastern long side, a passage carved into the tuff bedrock leads to a rock-cut chamber, possibly originally a chamber tomb.

High up in the apse, holes on the long sides suggest the presence of a mezzanine level, while lower down, feeding troughs hint at its use as a stable. It is therefore not far-fetched to imagine the structure being repurposed for residential use, even in relatively recent times.”
